The Family was a little Grumpy..........

Well the family was a little grumpy yesterday. It took us a while to figure it out, we can be a little slow at times. It was a holiday and the library was closed so Elder Chrys didn't get to write us a letter. Wow! We all run to the computer at 9:30 am to see who could get on their email the fastest, and then we checked all day.........yes we were a little grumpy. Then we became happy because today we got a letter. But not only that, I got a small personal note all to myself!! So the grumpiness can leave at least for today!! :]

Dear Family and Friends,

How can anyone live here?! It's so hot! Ha ha. It's only 97 outside but the humidity is....fun. Walked out of our apartment today and felt instantly drenched. Ohio is wonderful though. Yesterday was a huge Memorial day cook out for the Pick 2 ward so we went to that and ate food and such. A big band was there and there was this older couple dancing swing ha ha it was awesome. We played football for a good hour and i don't think i have ever sweat more in my whole life. I mean it. Ha ha it was so good though i loved it. That is the reasoning behind the late e-mail though. That and the library was closed. Sorry about that.

I'm so glad things are going well, i pray for you all every day. Sally told me she dropped by?? She said you guys all looked so happy! Ahh that makes me happy. I love Sally. Oh and i did get the card, but the video did not work :( i'm gonna see what i can do though. I love the thing Alex made!! Amazing!! James is out of school in a week??? What? Where did all that time go?

This week went well. After the baptisms it has been hard because our investigator pool is low. We're out contacting a lot. Contacting is so fun though, you meet so many interesting people. Most of which believe in God which is good, but are pretty set in their ways. Last week on i think friday, EVERYONE was talking to us on the street ha ha. We'd be biking and hear an "Elders!" from someone sitting on their porch. Or a bunch of girls yelling " How are you superman?!" ha ha ha. That one made me laugh. We got 3 more investigators that night though! Which is what we needed! We went to President Jensen's last transfer. So sad! Also half of our zone was leaving. One of which went home. It's amazing how fast you can love people out here, we were all teary eyed through the whole thing! Yeah, we're a bunch of babies.

We're working very closely with our bishop in this upcoming week. We're building "member missionary packets" to get the members more involved. We're so excited. Also, we had our first Preach My Gospel class! It was great! The priests we are teaching are a great bunch of guys. One just got his mission call to Australia!

Francis is doing so well, he's preparing himself for baptism. I love going over there, he's so awesome! He's golden. We're teaching him right after this, pretty stoked.

Had a pretty wonderful experience this week. I was sitting reading the letter that Sally's mom sent me :) woo! Anyway, she mentioned the Plan of Salvation, and how wonderful it is to know we are to be with our families forever. Instantly an intense feeling of the spirit came over me, one of those ones where you have to stop what you're doing and just say...wow. This is true. Ha ha. Like the times at the baptism i told you guys about! It was an amazing moment. I am so grateful that i am able to be with my family forever. It hurts to think about all the people that don't know what i know. I'm so grateful i am a missionary and i am able to bring the truth to them. How great is my calling! Thank you Mother Marsh!

I love you all so much, you are the best family in the world! It made me so happy to receive that card and read that you guys are reading the "giant" Book of Mormon every day! It's true, all of it is true. I am so grateful for this gospel, for my testimony, for a living prophet! Keep reading my dear family, I know it is true. I know my Heavenly Father lives and loves each and every one of us. Thank you for everything you do, and stay wonderful! I will write everyone back this upcoming monday, all other prep days have been crazy!

I LOVE YOU!

-Elder Robinson

OH! P.S. we successfully dropped a marsh mellow off a 3rd story building into Elder Jones' (the elder that went home) mouth. SO awesome.

I HAVE THE BEST GMA AND GPA EVER!!!

Ok.......so I have a son who loves his Grandma Nunley's Chocolate potato cake. So she sent him everything to make it in a box with music and his favorite snacks. Now as you can see in his letter he is making songs about how much he loves them for sending him yummy packages. I love that he appreciates getting things from his family!!

My family,
I love you guys. Every one of you. The spirit you have uplifts me every monday as i read your emails. Oh and I HAVE THE BEST GMA AND GPA EVER!!!! Cake, recipies, fastbreaks, and clair de lune?! Holy cow I was singing throughout the apartments about how wonderful my grandparents are. Literally...ha ha. And i looove the letters from livv and harris :) i love you guys.
This past week was the fastest week yet. Monday-Wednesday felt like one whole day. It was ridiculous. As each week goes by i realize how short 2 years really is. It's so crazy.
We had another baptism! SO good! Her husband just reactivated a few months ago and he was able to baptize his wife and his daughter. Such a strong spirit there. And we have another baptism on date, very cool story. She's from Ghana, and has been here for about 3 years, across the hall from us. She was taugh by the missionaries about 2 years ago by an Elder Walker, ha ha that's right, Kevin's friend! For some reason they dropped her though. We don't quite understand why. Anyway, she said that she has been searching for a church to go to but couldn't find one, and whenever she would think of somewhere to go, the picture of Christ on our front door would flash in her mind. WOA. And on thursday she went to someone in our ward because she knew she was a member, and asked for a Book of Mormon, so the member quickly called us and we were there within 5 min. We taught her the first lesson and invited her to be baptized! She accepted! We met up with her yesterday and asked her about her reading and she said about 5 times, "it's true, it's true." Yeah. That is just too cool. Blew our minds that's for sure.
Francis is well. We still don't know what is going to happen, so we're all a little nervous. We're all hoping and praying he doesn't go to jail. He's such a great guy.
Our ward members are becoming so involved with what is going on! It's amazing! Things are looking up here in Ohio!
And i am SOOOO glad Nate is doing well! That makes me so happy. A girlfriend too?? Woa! She sounds like a keeper. I love you Nate!
PS3 broke? Sad day. Keep that hard drive of all the videos though. Just gives James more time to play drums!
This past week has just been amazing. Definately hard, but amazing.
I gotta go! Here's my favorite quote.
One of the assistants this past week read this quote by President Eyring at President Jensen's last Zone conference,
"I am a part of the fellowship of the unshamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I am a Desciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, recognized, praised, reguarded, or rewarded. I now live by Faith, lean on his presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, devided, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up....or let up until i have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ. I must go till He comes, give till i drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He returns for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear."
30 seconds! Ha ha. I love you all so much. This Church is true. The Book of Mormon is the very Word Of God

I Am Completely Me!

Dear family,
Another week gone by already?? What? It was the fastest week by far. I am so glad to hear everyone is doing well. Ha ha ha ha dad spilled bubbles on Tabitha. That's funny. Bishop emailed me, gave me a quick update. So many missionaries!! It's soo cool! I am seriously so excited for them all. What an awesome time to serve.
I'm so glad you like the giant Book of Mormon! I figured that would be easier for dad ha ha. But yeah don't worry i have one too. I have the smallest version of the B.O.M. and the largest. Ha ha. The smallest is what i take out with me. So did you guys like the package?? Sorry it took forever to get it out. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos.
This past week has been pretty great. Tuesday was terrible ha ha we biked a good 13 miles all over pickerington going to appointments that ended up being us knocking on the door with no answer. Really hard day, but we didn't give up. Then wednesday we went on exchanges with our zone leaders, so good! Elder Jones came to Pickerington so me and him took the area over while Elder Long went to Gahanna. Elder Jones and I rocked Pick1st! It was so great! SOOOO humid but so great! We met some great people and scheduled a lot of appointments. Painted some chairs too, which ended up on my pants and shoe ha ha oh well.
Thursday was fantastic also. We were able to go to a trainer's meeting with the President. I just have to say he is so amazing. I love being around him. He always gets us so pumped ha ha. After that we went to Coulter's and shared a spiritual thought. THEN we taught some new investigators! I love it. This lady said we were the answer to her prayers. We were able to teach her a little bit and lift her spirits. She says we are the nicest boys on the face of the planet ha ha.
Francis said that he knows that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Ah! Isn't that the coolest?? We're trying to schedule a baptismal date for him but it's hard because we don't know if he will go to jail or not. I guess we'll just wait and see.
We were able to teach at the Mini MTC on saturday that the stake was holding. That was super cool. We did contacting and meeting people. It's so exciting seeing people who are preparing for missions! And to be a part of it!
It's been a very tiring week, but we've been doing better than ever. I love helping others recieve the Restored Gospel. Heck, I love helping others! Being a missionary isn't just teaching and preaching, it's serving others. Helping other's burdens a little easier to carry. Improving the lives of anyone we can. There's nothing else like it. As each day goes by, I get more and more excited to serve. My favorite thing to do here is contacting, just going out and talking to people. I have met so many cool people! And many more to come. I love this job.
Taylor is in Slovenija now?? AH! That's awesome!!
Member missionary work is coming along nicely.
Preach My Gospel class starts this week.
Where's my letter from Liv and Harris? And James? I haven't gotten a letter for almost 3 weeks! Besides the packages....
I love you all so so so so much. I am having so much fun out here, I am completely me! I am so blessed. I must be the most blessed missionary in the world. Keep being wonderful my family. The Book of Mormon is the very word of God. This is the one and only true church on the earth. CTR. Christ is coming. :)
Love,
Elder Chrys Robinson

P.S. I was able to play a members drumset :)

A Perfect Mothers Day......

What makes a perfect Mothers Day..........

Talking to your oldest Son and hearing your sweet Grandson say "Come on Dad!" because he wants him to go play with him. Seeing what weird things you can do with your tongues on Skype with your Daughter and her family brings on the laughter. Getting a beautiful card and peanut butter cups with it from my middle Son are always a great treat. My Missionary Son calling saying he heard the primary children singing Mom songs and he started crying because he missed me and loves me, then we cry on the phone together. It's a good thing. Then we come to the youngest who hugs, kisses and lets me tickle him. Then after that he bugs me all day. Chet buys me flowers, chocolate and cooks for me. Yes, it was the perfect Mothers Day. Filled with love and happiness. For me that is all I want. To know that my Children are all happy, safe and loved. I hope that this Mothers Day was just as awesome for you!!!

My dear family!
It was so great talking to you yesterday! You all sound so wonderful and happy. James sounds old. Weird. I love seeing how much Heavenly Father is watching over all of you.
Well i really don't know what to say in this, seeing how i said everything over the phone yesterday ha ha. I guess when you send this out, include my update from yesterday. But i really love it here. Really really. I have the best job in the world. I'm so grateful and blessed to have a loving family that supports me so much! You all are seriously the best family in the world! I love you all!
We are so excited to start this new program! The bishop loves the idea, and we're working with the young men's pres. this week to get it up and running. Elder long and I are also going to come up with lesson plans and everything this week. And today i have to go buy a bunch of supplies and what not, just so you know, i have to buy it with my card. Crazy exciting though! To be able to give back to all our ward does for us makes me happy. The work is about to get ten times more exciting!
Ok so here's a couple of things i forgot to say yesterday, my legs are huge. Ha ha. Between biking and walking, they are very beastly. It's awesome ha ha! There's a lot of Elders that when on a biking mission, by the end they can't fit in most their pants ha ha.
Also, we were able to order a video for the baptism yesterday. I really encourage you to order it! It's i think 8 bucks so not that bad, it's called Another Testament, Reflections of Christ. It's SO good! Almost everyone was crying by the end, so cool. That baptism was amazing.
I wrote this down on a post-it note to put in here, but i don't remember what it is ha ha. I must have liked it so i'll just tell you. Continue in faith on mormon.org. You should check out that site if you haven't, some of the stories on there are really amazing. Plus i think Jimmer has one on there ha ha boo yah!
Packages are going out today! Headed over there to send them as soon as i am done here. It's not much, but i think you'll like it. I bought one for myself in the MTC that i use every day. And i'm so excited you are going over Preach My Gospel!! That book is soooo incredible! We seriously use the things in that book daily. The section I'm sudying a lot this week is CH 1-Lsn 5 and CH 4-How to recognize the spirit. You should report back to me what you study throughout the week! That'd be cool.
Tell the Bishop that i love him, he is such an amazing man. Tell him to write me or email me sometime.
Well I best be off. This church is true. Read the Book of Mormon, it is evidence that Jesus is the Christ! He is real, He loves each one of us. My brain is blown daily by the things i learn out here. Untill next week! I LOVE YOU!
Love,
Elder Chrys Robinson

Happiness and Love.....

Yesterday was a great Sunday.......Chrys sent a message to Chet and I through Facebook that he loved us and he hoped we had a great Sabbath. I love Sunday's that start out that way. The feeling of love, happiness and joy all together. Going to church and seeing happy little faces in the nursery. Coming home and spending the day with the family that is here. I still miss my kids and grandkids that are not close, but just knowing how much I love them and picture them in my heart helps. I hope that your week is filled with love happiness and joy!!

Dear Family and friends,
It's so good to hear from you! I feel the spirit so much when you all speak of missionary work and testimonies and such. James has glasses?? Woa! Cool! I am sooooo glad mom is doing better. I pray for her so much. I'm so happy that dad is bringin the bucks! Ha ha so cool! Each one of you are in mine and Elder Long's prayers morning and night.
This thast week i'll admit, was rough. We did have some very good appointments and did get a lot of things done but, no new investigators! We went finding every day and it was rough being rejected by almost every person you talk to. But the secret to moving past that is prayer! On saturday we were tracting for about 5 hours and couldn't find any one to talk to! Earlier that day i prayed to know which street to go find on and it took me a good 20 min ha ha but i found it and once we got there, the people were rude! Ha ha it was so hard. House after house of being rejected. We had 1 more house to go to then we had to head to our dinner appointment, and i was feeling so down! So i said a prayer and i instantly felt better! It was an incredible experience. It felt like i was being given a hug. Literally. And before i was done with my prayer this kid came up and said, "that's my house! someone is home too!" and before we could even ask he ran inside and grabbed his mom, her my companion and i had a really great conversation about the gospel. We're going back this week!
My main thing this last week, and biggest thing i've learned, is how to listen and hear what the spirit is prompting me to do. It's amazing, we are only instruments in God's hands, we work and bring souls to him by the guidence of the spirit. Amazing.
Francis accepted the invitation to be baptized! We don't know what to do though because he is under house arrest and can't have his ankle monitor in water ha ha so yeah.....we'll have to figure something out. We met with thursday and it was amaaazziing! The spirit there was incredible! He said that whenever we speak he feels something. That we are blessing from God. How amazing is that?? We helped him recognize and understand exactly what that feeling is.
Was able to participate in a baby blessing yesterday! Very cool!!
Also went to Bro. Gibbins for another blessing. He is doing 10 times better! It really is a miracle! I love going there and feeling the love and apreciation from him to us. And to really see how much God loves him. I love being a missionary!! And the man we went with, Bro Sharples, our ward mission leader, may be the funniest man alive ha ha every word that comes out of his mouth is a joke. I cry nearly everytime i am around him because i always laugh so hard.
One of our investigators is getting baptized this week!! I'm so excited!! Mine and Elder Long's first.
Thank you so much for the package!! It was perfect! Feel free to send more ha ha! Especially conference talks! Ooooo safety for the soul by Jeffrey R. Holland. The talk that inspires me everytime i listen to it! And the talk we show investigators! Best talk ever! listen to it!!
Yes! Call next week! Crazy! This is going by so fast for me! I will be calling most likely from the coulter's house, at around 8:00pm Ohio time. I should have about 40 minutes with you guys :) who ever you want to be there is fine. Sadie? I'm just so excited!! Can't wait to wish my mom a happy mother's day!
Hmmm....i can use my card to buy things but they told me i need cash to send packages....so....i dunno. I will try at least but most likely next week. I couldn't even get Sadie's present out this week cuz i'm so busy! Even P-days are busy! I have soo many pictures ha ha like 500 now. Plus videos! And a special present for the family! I will FOR SURE get it out next week!
I love being a missionary. I really really do. There really is nothing else like it. I love this gospel. My testimony grows stronger every day. I love hearing from you guys :) and the harder i work, the more increased love i feel from you all. I love you all soooooooo much. Thank you for being the best family in the entire world, i am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life! I need a letter from Liv and Harris! Just thought i'd throw that in there :)
I love you!
Keep The Great Ohio Columbus Mission in your prayers!
