Here I am again. I told you it would be a while before I would right again. So many things have changed these last few months. I learned that I can do hard things and become a better person not only for myself but for those around me also. Chet looked at me the other day and told me how proud he was of me for not quitting or giving up. He was grateful for my efforts in helping. He also said that I am tough. I gave him a great big hug and kiss! It has been a long, short journey for me. I will explain what I mean...
First off I was given a temporary full time job for 6 months. Summer time is the companies crazy time. So while everyone was out playing I was at one point working 48 hours a week. In October they made the decision to keep me as a full time employee. I will be forever grateful to the spirit that whispered into my friends ear my name. I know that I can work on a computer and take calls from people all day long. Yes, I am a Customer Service Representative for a great company. I am grateful to help Chet take care of our family. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn new things. I can do hard things...
Second, I serve in our Young Women's. I was the secretary and am now a Beehive adviser. I didn't earn my Young Women's Award when I was actually a Young Woman. So I worked along side these beautiful young girls. They were the best example to me. I also earned both of my honor bee's. Chrys challenged us to read everyday while on his mission. Chet and I have not stopped. Thank you Chrys, one of those bee's is dedicated to you! This award I also want to thank my Young Women's leaders that are still there for me today, Arlene Billings, Linda Error and Kenna Thiriot. We may not see each other that often, but my love for you is just as strong today as it was when I was a teenager! I can do hard things...
Third, with much prayer and listening for an answer we decided to put our sweet dog Lucky to sleep after 18 years of her sweet friendship. She was in kidney failure and we didn't want her to suffer any longer. I watched her come into this world and was the first one to hold her. I was the last one to hold her in my arms as she left on her next journey. It was the sweetest, hardest thing I have ever done. I just held her and cried. We buried her close to us so she is not far. I can do hard things...
I am so grateful for the changes in my life that have brought me to where I am today. Yes, I can do hard thing...

Who would've thought I would be blogging for 2 whole years. I am such an on again off again blogger. I want to thank Chrys for helping me with his. Now you may get a blog every now and again because I just don't know what to say most of the time. I am so excited to see all my kids! I think there is going to be one big group hug! I am so grateful to have been a Missionary Mom for the second time. There is nothing like it. It's the hardest most wonderful thing ever! Then to know that Heavenly Father was brought into the lives of other families is the best part! I have time to prepare for James now. I don't think my eyes and heart could take him going right away! So I guess all there is to say is "Welcome Home Elder Robinson!!!"

My family,

Those pictures made me so happy. I love the Wilkinsons. Thanks mom. I'm excited for Brandon! He's going to do so well! I'm glad to hear that dad is enjoying work, 5:30am sounds like a blast! Ha ha.

Well, with all sorts of emotions running through me right now. Let's report the week.

Going on exchanges and biking a few miles, knocking on doors and talking to people, we found TJ! He is sweet. I was with Elder Clay who usually does Spanish work. We were going to contact a member that no one had seen in a while and it turned out that they had moved out and he had moved in the Saturday before with his girlfriend. The missionaries had been teaching his mom a couple months back and so he already knew who we were and let us right in. We will be hopefully teaching his girlfriend soon. They are pretty sweet.

On I think Thursday we got a call from a member living in Idaho who told us about his friend from Ghana that lives in our area that wanted to come to church. So he gave us his number and we called him and talked with him for a bit and gave him the address to the church and the time of our service, and he actually showed up! He is a super awesome guy. He has dreds all the way down past his shoulders and said the first time we met him "I've been to the church a lot in Ghana and was never baptized, but i would like to be." Hooah! We can do that! Ha ha. He even is set on coming to church every week to "worship the Lord" as he said. Missionary work is too cool. I love it.

Elder Bruce D. Porter was way sweet! It was kind of a short meeting, but it was just so good. He gave us SO much doctrine and info to study it was insane. Well at least he did for me. He talked mainly on the Doctrine of Christ and the Atonement and he opened my mind to quite a bit of things. I love it when General Authorities come, they are so fun and i learn so much.

P is getting more solid. She is still so involved in the gospel and is reading a whole bunch. Last night we went on exchanges for the last time and went over to talk to her. She is so great. She will be coming to church this week and will hopefully really progress to her baptism. K is still progressing to his baptism in April. He is so cool! I'm excited for him to get there!

Oh and we found out yesterday that the church does have C records, so we are now reactivating him! Ha ha. He came to church on Sunday and really enjoyed it. The ward really loves him! After church all I've been hearing is how much they love him. I'm grateful we were able to find him. He's such a stud.

I love these people. These past few days have been so hard. I was called up at the last of sacrament to give my testimony and i just got up and blubbered and cried ha ha. It was horrible. And now i have to do that on Thursday too at transfer meeting. I have loved more than anything serving as a missionary. My heart is here with these people. I hate to have to leave, i wish it wouldn't end. But i guess each missionary has his or her time then it's time to move on. I am so grateful for these past 2 years. I can't put into words how much it has meant to me, and i can't imagine what my life would be like if i wouldn't have come here. I have come to know my Savior as my Redeemer and have felt the power of the Atonement in my life. I know with out a doubt that God lives and loves His children. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that we are led by a prophet today. I hope to always be able to be given opportunities to share the gospel, because i love doing it so much. It's been the best 2 years!

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

-Elder Chrys Adam RobinsonWendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14873971783093092939noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6494839179428352263.post-76546659318445398592013-03-14T15:20:00.001-07:002013-03-14T15:20:50.266-07:00Sunshine, lollipops and craziness... Yes I love the sunshine! Yes I love lollipops! Yes craziness keeps you on your toes! So I guess all three can't be bad if they are all together. I feel like when I clean one mess another one takes it's place. I guess that's what you get when you live with guys. I also feel like I'm running out of time and I won't be ready for everything that needs to happen. But it will happen so I guess I better be ready. March is a crazy month. It feels like it is always the busiest. But today is a beautiful day full of sunshine. I went outside my comfort zone this week and went to BYU alone. Yes I felt old standing in the bookstore waiting for the Wilkinson's from Ohio. But it was all good! When I got home I felt like I had accomplished something. I know that sounds funny. But have you been to BYU at lunch time?? There are a lot of young people there!!!! Then I got the disco ball for the Grandkids and the Elder. I just need to find all the bullets to the nerf guns. Sometimes you just have to have a war with Chet and James. I was thinking about having one with the disco ball. That could be cool! Well I must stop rambling and get on with my craziness!! By the way Chet is only 52, I love the Elder's humor!

Dear family,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIV!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you had a great day!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!! 60 right? ;) I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's exciting about missionary month. I remember being so nervous when that month came around ha ha but now i can see how valuable it is. I'm excited to be there to help with the dinner!

So this past week was pretty good. The weather has been crazy! Cold then warm then cold then SUPER warm and amazing then rainy then cold and rainy. Ohio's weather is as Elder Watkins calls it "Bi-Polar." I love it here though. The week was filled with crazy lessons and people that just wanted to bible bash for some reason. It was weird. But it was still a good week.

We put K on date for baptism! He is such a cool kid. I don't know if i told you about him or not but he is 17 and is a cancer survivor. We've been teaching him for a little while now and were taking it a little slow with him and then we started focusing everything on baptism. Things sped up as soon as we put that as our focus for him. When we put him on date his main concerns were his friends and the influence they have on him. It just blows my mind how crazy the world is. He explained how everyone around him including his family is on drugs and how he doesn't want to be around that anymore. So we're asking the young men in the ward to get involved and to put focus on him. Better influences ya know? He is such a great kid and i really want him to succeed and come in to the gospel. So as of right now he is preparing for April 29th. It's a little ways away but he will be out of town for a bit. Plus he said 29 is his favorite number. Ha ha. He is awesome.

A and T are doing so good. The ward loves them! They really are answers to so many prayers. They weren't able to make it to church on Sunday because they were in Cincinnati, but A called when they got home to "check up" on us ha ha. I love them so much. It was on that phone call that i told them for the first time that i was going home. Ahh it sucks ha ha. Today we are on exchanges with the Spanish Elders and we will be going over with brother Van Woerkom tonight for a lesson with them. They are just amazing people.

Yesterday we had a fun day with all of the missionaries in Columbus and President and Sister Nilsen. So fun! Games and food and basketball and ping-pong. It was great. I was able to see almost all the Elders from my MTC district and got to catch up a little. I mostly talked with Elder Morley. He is such a great guy and he has grown so much! Also Elder Culler was there and we were able to catch up as well. I love these missionaries. I'm blessed to serve around some of the greatest people ever.

On Thursday we will be having a visit from Elder Porter and his wife. We're all so excited! I have a feeling it will be awesome.

Well i best be going. I am doing well. I'm amazed how fast this has gone by..it's so short. My mind is constantly filled with memories of the past 2 years and i find myself thanking my Heavenly Father more than ever for how great of an experience it has been. I love these people. I know that this work is true, and i know that God is in it. The Savior Jesus Christ lives and loves us. The Book of Mormon bring power into a person's life. I love the gospel and i am so grateful to have it my family.

Until next week! Have fun be safe! I love you all!

-Elder Chrys Robinson
I have been wearing many "apron's" this week. What are you wearing right now? I am wearing my baking apron. It has all my brownie mess on it. But that makes it full of love. I am making and freezing brownies for the Elder homecoming right now. So I got thinking, how many different "apron's" did I wear this week. Well there was the Mom, wife, cleaner, organizer, chauffeur, friend, leader, daughter and just me. I think I got them all. As women we really do have to wear a lot of "apron's". Just like I think men have to wear a lot of "hat's". I love that our roles are so different, yet go together so beautifully. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing that's for sure! I know I couldn't do what I do without my partner for eternity Chet! So here's to our "apron's" and "hat's"!!! May you wear them together well!!

Dear family,

Goodness i love you all. I am glad to hear that you had another great week! And dad got the job!!! That was such a sweet call from Sister Nilsen. Thanks for that. That's good that James enjoyed youth conference, some of my greatest memories are from the conferences i was able to be a part of. I know what you mean mom by having your mind full of scriptures, isn't it great?

Well This past week was pretty good. FREEZING. But pretty good. We had a great district meeting, which i have come to find out was my last one :( depending on if President wants one for my last week. This week is zone meeting and next week Elder Bruce D. Porter of the Seventy is coming for a mission tour. Pretty stoked for that!

We went on exchanges this last week with the ZLs Elder Bullock and Elder Durnall. So fun! I love exchanges. Elder Durnall and I biked probably close to 9 miles that day in the freezing cold and found 2 new investigators, K and her brother J. They are sweet! She was born in Utah and has lived everywhere. He was born in Cali and is out here to help K out until she can move out there with him. We had a solid lesson on the Restoration and invited them to be baptized if they knew the Book of Mormon was true and they said they would. On Sunday we made cinnamon rolls and brought them over to wake them up for church and they already had all the kids ready a hour and a half early! They really enjoyed church too, and the ward really welcomed them in. I love days like those, where you just work so hard to find new people, and then you do. The Lord blesses His missionaries!

A and T and doing so good. I love them so much. It is so fun seeing how much they have grown since we started teaching them. We had a lesson on Tuesday with them and challenged T to receive the Priesthood and he met with the Bishop on Wednesday and he interviewed him for it. He now has the Priesthood! And next week he will be passing the sacrament! We went over last night to congratulate them and to give A a blessing (she has had the flu) and i just can't put into words how much love is in the room when they are there. They have such a sweet spirit about them and they really are answers to so many people's prayers including mine. It will be so hard to leave them. That's probably the suckiest part about being a missionary, is you grow a love for the people and then you have to leave them. Ha ha. Every day I thank my Heavenly father for trusting me enough to let me teach them.

Well that's about it for this week. I love being here and being a part of my Heavenly Father's work. It is so fun, so hard, and so rewarding. I love the scriptures and the words of modern prophets. I love reading about Jesus Christ and learning from what He has taught us. I love prayer. I love the feelings of the Holy Ghost. The gospel is all true and i know it!

Have a great week! I love you all!

-Elder Chrys Robinson
I did it! I went one week with out media! I still need to get on fb and check it. Just a minute........Well hello it's been busy on fb!! That will take me a while to get through all those notices! For not being on there sure was a lot of things happening! I have to say I did like not having tv, games, fb, or anything of media other than email. I chose my email for the Elder and YW. Then one night I so wanted to just watch tv. We put on church videos. I worked on my personal progress which was actually really great! I organized things that needed to be done before the Elder gets home. It really was a peaceful week. We are going to look at what media we want in our lives. It's time for a change. We actually felt more in tune with the Elder and when he will come home since he has been media free for 2 years. On for a new challenge!!

Dear family,

Glad to hear that everything is good at home! No media for week huh? Piece of cake. ha ha. Sounds fun though! And i didn't know that Emily Barrington was going on a mission!! That is so awesome! Seems like everyone is serving these days!

Well this past week was so good. Probably the craziest ever! But SO good. It seemed to start out fine, we had a lesson set up for Tuesday night with A and T to finish up the lessons and prepare them for the baptism interview on Wednesday. As we were at dinner at one of the translator's house we got a call from them 30 minutes before the lesson telling us they had to cancel. Arlette found out 2 weeks ago that she was pregnant and she found out Tuesday morning that she had lost the baby. What a rough call that was. So the member we were with took us over to drop off some food and see if there was anything we could do. As we talked with Arlette, she said "It's ok. It is the Lord's will and we will move forward." She has so much faith. What an example she is to me. So we had to push back the interview until Friday and we moved the lesson to Wednesday and Thursday. It was stressful getting everything in and making sure that they were prepared, but it all worked out. With the Lord's help, they were baptized! It was such a sweet experience. The whole service was in french, and the spirit was strong! I just feel so grateful to have been there to teach them and help them make this covenant. The ward has done a great job in taking them in, and you can just feel how much love everyone has for them. Oh and just a side note- Brother J, the member that baptized and confirmed them, served his mission in France and was never able to baptize anyone in his 2 years. The Bishop got up in the baptismal service and said,"I received revelation that Brother J was supposed to baptize them. A and T are a blessing to him as a result of those 2 years of service." It was awesome. It was just too cool to be a part of.

Well to be honest, most of our week was centered around them and all the craziness, so that is my email! ha ha. It was just amazing. It's crazy how fast these 2 years are coming to a close, but man am i grateful i chose to be here. I love this place. I love being a missionary. It is hard, but it is the best. I love the Book of Mormon. I love my Savior and i know that He lives. I am look forward to the next few weeks and to a lifetime of service!

I love you all!

-Elder Chrys Robinson

So 2 years ago I decided to take this picture because Chrys wanted it. When we got them from Chrys' friend Robin I cried. I knew it would be a 2 long years before I would see this face again. People who are not in our church do not realize we can't call our kids. We can see them if we are on a business trip and their mission president allows it. But we get 4 phone calls and emails once a week. Then you send packages and snail mail. So really your contact is really little. You cherish your phone calls because you miss their laugh and the sound of their voice. But at the same time you know that their service is the most important thing they could be doing with their life. You wouldn't change anything about it. So here we are at the countdown. We can say we are on days, 27 of them. I haven't asked him anything about coming home yet. I haven't told him what he's talking on even. He is aware of his time. He doesn't need any distractions from his work. I am so grateful for his service and all of the missionaries of the world. Now lets get to work and be ready for this warriors return!!!

Dear family,

Wow Jacob is leaving already? That's crazy! I'm so excited for him. He is going to love it! Bummer that i won't be able to see him for 4 years though ha ha. Give em' Heaven!

This past week was awesome. It was the best week we've had here, and it is only going to get better! We found an awesome guy named C. He lives right next to an investigator that we were going to see. We were talking to a lady outside his apartment and he came out and said,"You guys look like you're dressed up like Mormons!" and we said,"We are Mormons!" and he was like,"Oh! Well i love that book of Doctrine and Covenants. I love what it teaches." ha ha we were like what the? Then asked if we could come in and leave a blessing on his home and he agreed. Well it turns out that he was baptized in the church in 1985 with his wife but after their divorce he went back to the baptist church and hasn't been back since. He was baptized back in the Baptist church so he may or may not be on the records still, and we're still trying to figure that out. But he is such a cool guy and so humble and sincere. He came here 3 years ago because he felt like he needed to and says he hasn't found why he is here yet. But before we left we had a prayer and left a blessing on his home and he said,"Man i feel good right now. I feel like something good is happening inside of me." So we then explained to him that it was the Holy Ghost and you could definitely see a light in his eyes when we left. It was awesome. We will be going back tomorrow to have a lesson with him.

After that we made contact with the investigator, K, that lived next to him and set up a return appointment for Saturday. This kid is awesome. He is 16 and is a cancer survivor! Such a boss. When we got there he had company but had 15 minutes for a lesson. We taught him about church and why we come to church and read out of Moroni the sacrament prayers and he committed to come to church! The member we had with us offered to pick him up and everything. It was awesome. The only concern he had was that he didn't have a shirt or tie, so we ran back to the apartment and i gave him a shirt and one of my ties, and in the morning we brought over some cinnamon rolls for him to make sure he was still coming. The member brought him to church and took him to class with him and everything, even invited him to dinner at their house and to a fireside last night. The members here rock. So this week we will be going back and will hopefully teach his mom as well which will be cool. As a mission we are focusing on getting 100 people on date for baptism, so this week we are hoping and praying that he can be one of the 100.

A AND T GOT MARRIED!!! We had a simple little service after church in the young men's room and it was just so amazing. The whole thing was in english and was translated into french by the one of the members. It was just too cool. The joy was felt and shared by everyone and it was touching to see the members come out and love and support them. Seriously one of the coolest moments of my mission. So this week we will be finishing up the lessons and everything is set for Saturday! Us and the Ward Mission Leader are working on putting the service all together and having it all done in french so they won't have to worry about not understanding anything. I AM SO STOKED. They are just so amazing and i feel so much love for them. I am so grateful to be able to help them make this covenant. I love being a missionary. This work is the work of God and i love it. There is nothing else like it.

This week is going to be crazy busy with all that we have to do, but i wouldn't rather be busy doing anything else. I know that the gospel is true. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I know He lives. I love being on a mission and it makes me so excited to see all the new missionaries coming out and others preparing to serve. The harvest is great!

Thanks for all you do! Have a great and safe week- Share the gospel!

-Elder Chrys Robinson

So this week you get to hear from the Elder. His p-day was late and I am late. So next week will be better! Have a great week!!

Dear Family,

Well howdy hey. I have almost no time today so this one will be kind of short.

This past week has been great. Lot's of things are moving along! It was pretty hectic though. Some of our translators for A and T were out of town and so for a couple days we were frantically trying to find someone to go to lessons with us. It all worked out, and they met with the bishop on Sunday and they now have their marriage license. Woo! So they are planning on getting married right after church on Sunday by the bishop. THEN they will be baptized the following Saturday! We are so excited for them. They are amazing. Really. OH and they called us on Saturday and A said that she needed to talk with us and that she needed us over as soon as possible. So a little scared of what was going to happen we got a translator and went over. Well, the news was that she is going to have a baby!! So we had a little joyful party there. Ha ha. She was concerned that it would interfere with her baptism, but since they are getting married then all is well! It was pretty exciting.

The mission got their first 18 year old today. How awesome is that?! Things are moving so fast. Almost weekly the mission is setting new records for finding or people at church or baptisms, ect. It is so awesome to be a part of. The Lord is Hastening his work. It is so incredible to see. It's incredible to feel as well. I love being out here as a missionary. Because of all the missionaries coming out our mission has changes transfers to 5 weekers starting with this one, so i will be home a week early. It's kind of a bummer but that's ok. This transfer is going to FLY by. I will not let up or slow up until i have stayed up, stored up, and stowed up for the cause of Christ. I know that this work is true and i know that it is the work of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that is changes lives. It teaches so much of how we can better our lives and use Christ's Atonement. I am so grateful that i have it. I am grateful for families and the knowledge that they are forever, i know that is true. Heavenly Father loves each of us and is anxious to bless us. Well I was just going to post the Elder's letter, but when I opened my email I had his flight information. My heart skipped a beat. Wow, 6 weeks from today he will be back home. The first year seemed like it would never end. Then it started going faster. By time Christmas came it has just flown by. Now my head is just not in the game and I'm not ready. Really?!?! Bad timing on my ears! But to keep the sweet missionary spirit going we fed our local missionaries. It's such a great thing to hear their stories. They both had great stories of how they came to the decision to serve. The work is very important and won't stop. The changing of the ages for both young men and women has proven that. Missionaries rock! Now if I can just get my head back into working order I would be a happy person!!!

Dear Family,

Oh man mom! That really makes for a fun week when you ear drums burst. Sheesh. What now? And Sinaih is having another! That is so awesome!

This past week was a pretty good one. It started off strong and finished strong. I also had 2 of the best meals i have ever had on my mission. Biggest and best ribs ever, and home-maid Raising Canes. WOW.

A and T haven't come to church for some legit reasons, they are experiencing some hardcore opposition and T was in an accident last Saturday which put him out of work and he was too banged up to make it to church. This week they were sick, and they had no way to church because the car was still messed up. T is the only one with his green card so he is the only one that can work, but his troubles are that he can't find a job. On Saturday they ran flat broke and had no food in the apartment so they couldn't eat, and they barely ate anything on Sunday. We didn't find that out till yesterday. The member that we were with sent an email out to ward council last night about that, but at our dinner last night we just mentioned that they were struggling and they immediately stood up and started putting food in boxes to give to them. The B's are so sweet. I love these members. They are so willing to help out any way that they can. It was awesome making that delivery to them. :) I love them.

Our new investigator for the week is D! Oh man this guy is so sweet. He looks a little crazy, but is pretty solid. We were on exchanges with the spanish Elders when they found him. He is just awesome. We taught him part of the first lesson yesterday, and all throughout it he kept saying things like "I just want to change." and "I want to man up and do what is right". So as we were talking about the Savior and His earthly ministry, we felt prompted to move to talking about His baptism. About how His life was an example for us, and that it was a commandment to be baptized, and that by being baptized you access the Atonement. Man he was all for that! The lesson kind of stopped there, but we felt that is what needed to be taught. We have a lesson set up for Tuesday with him and we will be putting him on date for the beginning of next month. I just love being a missionary. It is so COOL!

Well that's about it for this last week. I always feel like i leave stuff out. Oh well. OH! We have our Zone Temple Day this week, so i will be in the temple on Thursday. So excited to go, i love it there. I'm looking forward to this week, it's going to be a good one. We have some great lessons lined up. I definitely feel a difference from all the prayers and fasting, thank you all so much. I love how much the gospel has become real to me. It's so interesting how a witness from the Holy Ghost becomes something that i guess could feel more physical than something that is actually physical, and yet it is so hard to describe and put into words. But man am i so grateful for it. I am so grateful for my Savior and what He did and continues to do for me. I love Him so much. I'm grateful for this time my Heavenly Father has given me to be a missionary, it has been the greatest time of my life. I'm so looking forward to the next few weeks. Find teach and BAPTIZE!

-Elder Chrys Adam Robinson

I should have posted earlier and maybe I would've felt more like it. Then again, maybe not. Just a few more weeks and who knows, I may become a here and there blogger. Lets just throw this out there, we all hate this flu! It comes around and makes you just feel yucky. You get better and it comes back around to visit again. Really?!?! Who said it could do that?? I feel so bad for James. He has missed so much school. His teachers are really nice, but there is only so much you can do if your not there. You can do the work, but part of your grade is being in class. Then there's the my ear hurts really bad! Now my other ear hurts really bad! Your doctor says your rare for bursting your ears. I say thanks and walk out with meds. Blah. But guess what? I don't have to answer my phone because I can't hear that good. Sometimes I can't hear it ring. People talk to me and I don't even know it. I have a really quiet world. How long has it been since I lived in a quiet world. There are small blessings. So I will take the quiet and my meds. Try to be patient. Another test on that one because I haven't learned it all the way. Thank my Heavenly Father that I will hear again. Love my husband for loving me through this. I also hope the tv isn't turned up too loud.......
Dear Family,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER AND CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only have a few minutes today, so this one will be short. It seems like every week there is less and less time and more and more things to do.

Last week was pretty good. Pharrin and Megan are still preparing to be baptized but on the 23rd of February instead. Pharrin and her Husband are getting married on the 20th to be able to do that. They are amazing though. Pharrin LOVES the gospel and can teach it just like any member could. She is constantly reading and making changes to her life to be baptized, and it is so wonderful to see. Megan is becoming more solid as we continue to meet with her. She is now reading on her own and her understanding has really improved! I'm so blessed to be able to teach them. I love them.

Arelett and Toussaint are doing so good! They are some of the most solid investigators I've seen. I learn so much from just being around them. Even though they speak french and little english, i realize more and more that there is something stronger in our lessons than words. We can understand each other by our feelings rather than by words, it's amazing. I just love going there and being with them. Last night we had a lesson with them which unfortunately i wasn't able to be a part of. I was called into a mission conference call for the old missionaries that will be leaving in the next few months. But Elder Watkins and the member taught them about the priesthood and gave them blessings. Toussaint was in a car accident on Saturday so he was a little banged up and needed one, but he is doing just fine. They said the spirit was so strong that it was impossible not to feel it. I feel SO blessed to teach them, which in reality i feel like i am being taught.

I need to get going, but i just want all of you to know how much i love you and how grateful i am for all of you. I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my life and on my mission and i am just so grateful that my Heavenly Father has given me so many opportunities to learn and to grow. I love the gospel and my Savior so much, and i love these people that he has given me to teach. I love the feelings of the spirit, and how it is possible to have it with you at all times if we let it. The Book of Mormon is true and it does bring us to Christ if we are willing to follow the council it gives us and the doctrines it teaches. Jesus Christ did suffer for us and He does live. We do have a living prophet and he does receive divine guidance for this the true church. I am grateful for my testimony and i look forward to continue to change and become more like my Savior.

I love you all, thanks so much for all you do for me. Have a great week! Share the gospel!!

-Elder Chrys Robinson

P.S. So I went with Chet this week to drop something off to his client. It was one of the owners of Doug Smith Auto in American Fork. I turned the car off and waited. A few minutes later Chet sent me a text saying he was coming out. So I see him and start the car. He gets in and the car starts smoking. I turn it off and pop the hood for him. The radiator hose cracked and we lost a lot of fluid. We sat in the car and said a prayer. My car was still not working from being frozen and was also in Lindon. When we were done I looked at Chet and said "Aren't we sitting in front of a car dealership? Don't they have parts?" Nathan worked for a few years as a service writer here so Chet went and ordered the part. Fast forward 10 minutes later with a borrowed screwdriver we pulled into a back stall and he changed it out. We also laughed when he found the gallon of anti freeze behind my seat in the car. So it took us a total of 20 minutes to get the part, change it and get on the road again. The blessings were huge that day!! So yes we took our lemons and made lemonade!! What did you do with your lemons?

Dear family,

It's great to hear from you all! And to hear that everything is going good! Thank you for all the packages! Everything is so great!! The pants and everything are so nice, thank you so much!

Well i don't have much time today. We have a member waiting for us to take us shopping. But this past week was great, we got a lot of things done and a lot of things movin! Pharrin and Megan are now on date for baptism! February 23rd! We had a lesson on Monday with them and the stake president here, and boy it was so awesome. Pharrin is incredibly solid, it's so fun teaching her! She is reading her Book of Mormon all the time and she recently downloaded the Mormon Channel app and is watching all sorts of great videos and reading her scriptures along with the Book of Mormon videos. She even has recognized the adversary fighting against her decision to be baptized, and that has effected her greatly. But in the positive. She reads and prays a lot more because of it. Man she is awesome! She is a great influence on her whole family and Megan too. Megan is doing pretty good. She has a hard time understanding a lot of things because she hasn't been a part of any sort of religion since she was 6, but all in all she is doing good. The ward is taking them in so well and loving them in to the gospel. What a blessing it is to be able to teach such great people.

So, our area is also covered by the Spanish Elders which is super confusing at times. Last month we received a referral for a french speaking couple from Congo and Elder Watkins was sick so they sent the Spanish Elders (who are also English Elders) to contact them. Since then they have been teaching them and it has been great but hard because they have been going to our ward and not the Spanish branch, so the bishop made the call to transition them to the English Elders-us! We had our first lesson with them on Saturday. Wow they are amazing. They hardly speak english, so we have a translator from the ward with us. It is so cool. Just in one lesson i learned so much about teaching from the heart. Testifying from the heart. Letting the spirit guide the things we teach. It was amazing. We finished the Plan of Salvation and the spirit was so strong. We finished with talking about how families can be together forever, and as the brother was translating i felt prompted to show a pass along card with the picture of the Salt Lake Temple. The spirit was amazing and reconfirmed to my heart what i already knew and confirmed our words to their hearts. In french she said, "Just as we were talking about the temple, i feel a strong desire to go there. I want to go there." And we told them that that was the spirit and that they needed to get there. They are now on date for baptism on February 16th and are doing so good! I am so grateful and i feel so blessed to teach such prepared people. Gosh i love being a missionary, there is nothing better in the world to be.

Well my family, i am out of time. Thank you so much for all that you do for me. I love being out here, and i don't want this time to end. It is a blessing to have this gospel, but i feel it is a greater blessing to be able to share it and see others embrace it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that because of Jesus Christ that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and be with our families forever. I love him so much. I feel so blessed to know these things.

I love you all! have a great week!!! Share the gospel!

-Elder RobinsonWendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14873971783093092939noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6494839179428352263.post-73018301181735610452013-01-18T16:26:00.004-08:002013-01-18T16:26:46.407-08:00It must be January Blah...... So I sat here all week thinking about what I should write. Should I write about how cold it is? Should I write that Chet and James shared their love with me and I just loved how my stomach felt this last week. I sometimes feel that even though January is a new start to a new year it is also a blah month. It's cold, everyone gets sick, there's not a fun holiday like Christmas, it's January Blah. I guess I will let the Elder talk about his adventures in a new area.............

Dear family,

What's up with all the sickness over there? Well i guess it's over here too, but man! I hope you all get feeling better! I'm glad to hear all the reading that's going on! 2 Nephi is great! I just finished Alma!

I don't have much time today so this will probably be short.

This past week was pretty good, our investigators are great! Our most solid ones are Pharrin and Megan. They are sweet! Pharrin was found a few months ago by some other elders and just loves the church, and the ward has really taken her in! The only thing that has kept her from getting baptized is that she lives with her boyfriend. But that is all changing!! We dropped by on night and she answered the door and she was like, "Hey sorry guys i've got company over and we're all planning a wedding. We're planning on getting married on Valentines Day!" We were pretty shocked at that ha ha but we are so excited! So the ward now is taking over and planning everything with her. Megan is a friend that is staying with them for the time being and we just started teaching her last week. She hasn't been very religious in her life but is super open to it! And has so many questions! We dropped by last night to set up a time to meet and she handed us a paper with all her life's questions on it. We will be having a lesson tonight and we will be focusing a lot on answering those and helping them commit to baptism. It's going to be a great night.

This ward is awesome, it's been a great experience serving here already. We got a call Saturday night by the ward clerk asking us to speak on Sunday, so both of us were able to speak. That went great! I don't remember telling you, but i also got to speak 2 weeks ago in Batesville. I was informed that i was to be the last speaker right before the second to last speaker was announced in sacrament meeting. So that was fun! ha ha. So this time was nice to have more than 10 minutes to prepare. This ward is so good at giving us things to do and names to visit, i love it! They are pretty missionary minded and very proactive. It's just great to be surrounded by people who are so willing to serve and help one another, what a blessing.

Well i need to be headed off now, i am out of time. This gospel is so true! I love being a part of this great and wonderful church. I love the Book of Mormon and the guidance of modern prophets. Jesus Christ does live and love us and His Atonement is real! The Gospel is how we access it and it is how we can be changed. I love this work and i love being a missionary.

I love you all! Thank you for everything you do for me! and for keeping me warm! :) Have a great week!!!! Share the gospel!

-Elder Chrys Robinson

Oh and we feed squirrels outside our apartment. It is AWESOME. I will get pictures.
So when Chet and I really looked at the calendar and realized we would be putting 2 people in James' room we kind of went GAH!! It's not bad, it's just reorganizing it for more room. We gave away some levi's that didn't fit James or Chrys. That helped the closet out! We need to make sure under the bed so it can fit his luggage or maybe the closet. We have shelves set up for them to share. We need to decide what to get out of storage of his. I'm not sure if his drums will fit here, but I really want to get them. My mind is just on overload on fitting everything here. We don't have a lot here, but it's just being creative. Then there's the figuring out the little snacks to feed everyone when the homecoming happens. The plans, the plans........did I mention the flu came to visit and kind of messed up the organizing?? Yeah, there's that too.........

Dear Family,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the notes on the talks our neighbor gave. Pretty sweet! And tell TJ hi for me!! Poor Dad and James getting sick! That stinks! I hope they are all better!

Yes it is true. I am back in the Ohio. It's weird actually to be back where a lot of people live ha ha. I guess i got more used to Batesville than i thought. It's great here though. I'm not too far from Pickerington! Actually i get to go tomorrow for a training at the old Reynoldsburg building! So that will be fun! It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near it. Elder Watkins is great. This ward is pretty great. We're in a district with a Spanish companionship and some sisters. Pretty sweet! I've never been in a district with either. They're great missionaries too. So this may be news or not, if not then i wish it was, I'm in a bike area again. Ha ha. IT'S SO COLD. But so fun. I was met by lots of snow and ice which made me cry, then the tears froze on my face which made me cry more. But it's all good. ha ha. It's a learning opportunity, and i am grateful i get to serve here.

The ride to transfers was awfully fun. We left at about 7:45 to get there on time -2 and a half hours away- and by 8:45 we were stuck in traffic. We were stuck in it for about an hour, so there was already no way were going to make it on time anyway. But then we started to hear squeaking coming from our car in the middle of traffic, and Bishop Phaneuf was noticing that when he let off the gas that the car would stop by it's self. So needless to say after being stuck in traffic for an hour, were stuck in a shop getting our breaks fixed for an hour. They completely locked up and the mechanic could barely get the truck into the garage. But after that the next hour was smooth sailing. So we completely missed the meeting by like 45 minutes ha ha it was pretty funny. We had our own little transfer meeting in the parking lot.

I don't have too much to update you all on because that is pretty much all that happened. I gotta say, i miss Batesville. I love those people. But i am glad to be here and to have the opportunity to serve others. This next transfer i feel is going to be so great! We're going to work our guts out! or our soles off. Either way, we're going to do some WORK! I love this gospel and the power of the Atonement. I love the knowledge that the scriptures give and the questions that it answers. I love the spirit that testifies of truth and leads us along the way. I know the Book of Mormon is true, there is no doubt in my mind of that. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and i know he loves us.

I hope you all have a great week! Well it was a very good week. We all got what we wanted. James was happy with everything he got. We went with a color theme of red and black. He was one happy kid! Then we got to talk to all the kids and that was sweet! We had our last phone call for the missionary. These last few months have just flown by. I think with this new calling it keeps me busier with less time to think about it. Then James and his school add to that. I'm glad for the distractions. I am so grateful for the days when we get to just be. There aren't to many of them anymore. I hope your Christmas was truly what you needed it to be for you!
It was great to hear from him on Christmas--of course it was great to hear from all of you! It's weird to think that it was my last call, and that i don't even have another general conference to look forward to. I only have a birthday! So weird. This past year went by so fast! It's great to hear that everything went well over Christmas though. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing so well!

Well today i don't have much time to email, so i won't update you on too many things. Except for Christmas night, in the middle of us sharing the Christmas story with a family, little Carter Utterback threw up on Elder Johnson's backpack and my suit. We all actually had a pretty good laugh believe it or not, especially the kids ha ha it was funny.

I just need to say how much love i feel for the Savior. I've been reading a lot about Him and trying to better understand who He is and the importance of what He did for me. I can't really put in to words all that i have learned and how grateful i really am. It's hard to describe what the spirit has taught me really. But i do know that He is the Savior and Redeemer. I know that he has purchased us with his blood. I know with out a doubt that what He did was for EVERY person. Not just collectively, but individually. That anyone can change because of that. I know that his love is stretched out to each of us. "However late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines." (Elder Holland). I know that this statement is true because i feel that in me. Anyone can change. His hand is stretched out still and will always be. He is the reason i am serving. He makes it possible to hope, love, live and laugh. I love Him for what He did for me, and i love Him because He loved me first.
I need to take back my kitchen table from Chet and the clutter. I do this on a daily bases, but it has become a problem area. I need to decide what I'm going to bake first or just start. GAH!!! Ok I feel a little better. No I don't. I need to get off this blog and get my bake on!! I need some Grandkids to help!!! That's what I need!!! I hope you all are more prepared than I am! :]

Sounds like a pretty great week you all had! I laughed at the little one throwing up everywhere though ha ha. That sounds fun! :/ "waiting for the missionaries" - how cute!

Well this past week was a pretty eventful one. It went by at a very fast but slow pace, it was weird! But we had a lot happen. We found 3 new investigators and had a bunch of great lessons. We found Brett on Friday, we had found him tracting a few weeks back but had never been able to catch him home. But it was at the end of the night and we drove by and decided not to knock because the whole house was dark and figured everyone was sleeping, but as we drove away i felt a nagging at me that we had to go back which i blew off at first until it got worse about 20 minutes later. So we decided to just go give it a shot, even though we had to be in our apartment in like 5 minutes. So we showed up and knocked and he invited us right in and sat us down and we started talking about the restoration! And the spirit was for sure there. I felt it. Especially during the first vision! He agreed with everything we taught and agreed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon! And we will hopefully be going back to teach his girlfriend as well. Woo! Gotta love the spirit :)

So it turns out that Matt and Tyler don't live in our area. Not even in our Mission. Just by like a street though, SO we counseled with our Bishop and President Nilsen and they left it up to us to say what to do, and then we met on Sunday and talked about it and we're going to be passing them off to the Connersville Ward. Bishop actually made the call, but the spirit confirmed the decision and it's be for the best! So we will be talking tonight with Matt and letting him know. It's sad, but we feel pretty ok with it all. I definitely know why all this happened, because now that we don't have anyone on date for December we're going to work even harder to get one! It going to take some faith, but we are committed. We're fasting praying and working for it. And tomorrow we're going to the temple! Oh man i haven't been there since Pickerington! I am SO excited. I want a baptism. Yup. It's going to happen.

Last night was pretty sweet, we went and had a lesson at the Boyds, which went pretty well! Sister Boyd is still real hesitant, but that's ok. It was still a great visit. After that we drove home to Batesville to finish the night and we dropped by a media referral named Joshua that we had dropped by like 5 times in the past couple days but he's never been home. But last night we finally caught him! He let us right in and his brother came down and we offered for him to sit in, and it turns out that he's more interested than his brother! Ha ha. Joshua is 15 and Atheist, Jacob his brother is i think around 17 and has been to a bunch of churches and knows a few members of our ward. They are sweet! As soon as we had finished talking about the Book of Mormon Jacob was like, "let's go grab us one of those books!" (for i had forgotten to grab one out of the car before we walked up). So we went outside and grabbed one then came back in and finished up and left with a prayer. It was a great lesson and the spirit was felt! We will be meeting again with them on Wednesday. The work is moving!!

April and Ashish both made it to church Sunday! They are so awesome. We helped them put up Christmas lights this last week which was so fun but so COLD! We haven't been able to meet with them for a while because things have been so crazy, but they want us over for dinner this week and get back on the lessons. Gosh we love them, they are such a great family.

Well i have to get going now, all out of time! I just want to say thank you all for the love that you have shown me and the support you give me. And thank you so much for all the Christmas cards and packages! They all mean so much to me and i am so grateful for them. Thank you! I know that this church is the true and living church on the earth today, and i know that because the spirit has spoken to me. I know that Jesus Christ lives, He is the Savior of the world! And that through him we can really hope for a better world, even a spot at the right hand of God (Ether 12). That is great knowledge to have- especially in the crazy tumbling world we live in. I am so grateful for the gospel that He has given me and this opportunity that i have to share it as a missionary.

Have a great week! Be safe! Christmas rocks!

I really didn't have the words to post a few days ago. I had to just sit and think on thing. If I write what I really feel I think I will cry. So I will write what brought me joy this week. We went to a friends house for a birthday party. We haven't seen them in years. After sitting at the table meeting new friends and seeing my old ones, I remembered how much I loved being around them. We shared our life stories with trust in the people around us. We cried and then laughed so hard we couldn't breathe. It was truly a evening of need. I walked away knowing why I loved these friends so much. They have the biggest hearts and love the Lord. They show it in everything they do. I came home recharged. I am grateful for so many things in my life. But with such bad things happening in the world, it's good to know there is love in it also. In church today our speaker from the high council said " The only solution to Connecticut is the Kingdom of God. Spreading the word of God." Let us be examples and spread the word and love of God. That's where the happiness is....... <3 p="p">
Woo Spencer is home! Thanks for sending the pictures ma! I love them, Jacob is all like, 70's looking kind of ha ha. Spencer looks the same! Good ol Spence. Devin has his call already?! Gosh i know i say this a lot but time flies. I heard from Elder Riggs yesterday that Carson got her mission call!! That's awesome!!!

Well like always, i don't have a lot of time today. We've got a billion things to do! So i'll have to rush through this a little.

We had another booming week! We have 4 people on date for baptism!! Things are picking up so much lately, it's hard to stay caught up sometimes. Last week we put Tyler on date! It was awesome! We were doing an overview of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for him and he said, "This is so cool, I really like this. I would really like to be baptized." So he is on date for Dec. 29th with Matt!! We are so excited. They came to church and really enjoyed it, and then Sunday night a member family took them along with us to a fireside in Dayton where Shawn Bradley was speaking. It was great! The spirit was really strong and the chapel and gym were packed!! Shawn is so awesome, he talked a lot about making right choices, and not just making them in the moment but making them early in life. He chose to serve a mission 15 years before he even did and he said making that decision so early helped him to make correct choices through the rest of his life. It was really inspirational and the things he said were so true. Matt and Tyler really enjoyed it and are really loving the gospel. You can really see the change in them as they are embracing all this, it's so cool to see. And Matt quit smoking! Woo! :D

We also put CV and Emily on date for January 19th! We went over and had dinner with them and had a great lesson that i think pointed them in the right direction. It was all on baptism and change. They brought up all the concerns that we were worried about and the spirit addressed them and set them on the path! Emily is having a hard time right now with the baby and all, but they are doing so good. We love them so much and are so excited for them!

On Thursday we had a dinner with a less-active member and her friend actually stayed for it and the lesson afterwards!! The member said that she had been working on getting her to take the lessons for years but she wouldn't do it. So that is definitely good thing! Her name is Kathy, and she is pretty willing to make some changes. She just kept saying how much she want to get right with God and fix things up. So we taught her the restoration and invited her to be baptized and she accepted! She doesn't have a date right now, but she soon will! We should be meeting with her this Thursday for another lesson.

April and Ashish made it to the Ward Christmas Party on Saturday, but then got sick and couldn't make it Sunday morning. So we will hopefully be going over today or sometime soon to give them a blessing. They are so amazing. I don't think I've loved another family besides my own so much! I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has trusted me to teach them :)

Things are really moving right now. I LOVE it. I haven't had this much fun ever. We knocked like half of this tiny town on Sunday and we have a couple lessons set up for tomorrow night! And another set up for tomorrow afternoon in Batesville. The ward members are really reaching out and helping our investigators, they are so supportive. I love these people so much, and my desire to help them come to Christ grows every day. My testimony grows every day. I love my Savior so much and i am so grateful for Him during this Christmas season and always. We had our mission Christmas Devotional yesterday and man it was amazing. The spirit was so strong through the whole thing. At the end of it all they had a slide show of all the pictures that the missionaries sent in for the baptisms and things that happened this past year and it was so good. I was choked up the whole time but the second to last picture of the slide show was of Linda and I at her baptism, boy did that send Elder Riggs and I over the edge! It was a great day yesterday.

This past week was great! We got a lot of good lessons in! And found 4 new people and had 6 at church! The most i've ever had at church in one week!

The week started out pretty normal and good, except that changed with a call for an emergency specialized training for all Zone Leaders and District Leaders. So on Tuesday we rode with the Lakeside Park elders up to Middletown, OH to meet all the other elders and President and Sister Nilsen. It was so sweet! And Elder Riggs was there too!!! He was called to be a district leader this last transfer! It was great to see him. The whole thing was on leadership and how the learders are going to help us all make our goal of 500 baptisms for the year. Really opened my eyes. Right now we are sitting at 439 for this year, which is a huge jump from our 361 of last year. How cool! The work is moving faster and faster every day. And we are already at about 200 missionaries because of the age change. The mission is growing, the work is progressing, and we are finding to baptize. So many miracles have happened this last year. I am so grateful to be able to be here and see all these wonderful things happen. So Elder Johnson and I have set a goal to fin 3 people to be baptized this month. Which will happen!

We've been knocking a bunch of doors lately and trying to talk to everyone, which resulted in the 4 new people this last week. I've been feeling so much more confident about myself and about this message we have to share, I am trying to see everyone I meet as they could be, or in other words, as they WILL be. Trying to invision everyone i meet being baptized, and it has really helped! I feel that when i do the spirit leads me more to what i need to say to touch the hearts of the people i meet. It's been a great experience. We're working hard! Harder than i ever have! And it's because i know how much the gospel changes lives. I love being here and i love sharing the Gospel.

April and Ashish are doing great! They participated in the fast yesterday and they said that it went really well. They are so fun though, we challenged them to fast and Ashish wasn't sure he could do it, but April was like let's do it! Ha ha she kept egging him on to do it, which he did and he did very well. In Gospel Principles class we had a lesson on the Gift of the Holy Ghost. During a part of it we had a discussion on what the Holy Ghost feels like and Ashish was actually the first one to comment on it ha ha. That got me pretty stoked. They are doing so well and we will be meeting with them this week to finish up the lessons :) we love them so much, it's is so cool to see other embrace the gospel and to see them just change. Wow.

Both Boyds made it to church!!! Sister Boyd kind of fell of for a while because i think we were all pushing too hard. So Brother Boyd decided that he would just let it be and back off and head to the Methodist church for a while. We decided that it was probably a good thing to do for her. So we didn't hear anything from them for the whole week then we got a call from a member saying that they were both coming on Sunday! She seemed to really enjoy it and the members loved her! Hopefully this week we will be able to pick things back up and help point them in the right direction. They are a sweet couple, and i'm excited to see what happens in the next few weeks!

Oh and yes, a soda exploded in the car the other day. That was fun to clean up.

Well that's about it for this last week. Things are so good here right now, and the people we are teaching are really progressing! We are fasting and praying that all things work out and that we can continue to find the elect and prepared. Miracles are happening in this mission and here in Batesville. I am so grateful to be here, i don't what life would be like if i hadn't of served here with these amazing people. I love being a missionary.

I am loving that Christmas season is here. My lights are up, my tree is fluffed and I am happy I have a few presents. We have to get the Elders box out before his Christmas devotional! Last week I was feeling a little overwhelmed. This week things are still a little crazy, but I am still breathing. I went to Relief Society for an activity. What a great way to start the season. Getting closer to Christ. That's what this season and everyday is really all about! Lets all put the Christ in CHRISTmas!
Glad to hear thanksgiving went well! I love the pictures! It scares me how grown up Harris and Liv are! Yikes! They've grown like a foot! My mind is blown that Elder Rickers is finishing his mission up already. Wow. That went so fast. But i am happy for the Rickers! I'll bet they are all so excited. And Caleb is leaving already?! He always kind of seemed a little older to me so i feel like he should have left forever ago. Ha ha. That is awesome though.

Well now that i am coming out of my turkey coma, let's talk about the week shall we? This past week was amazing. Especially yesterday. It was probably one of the happiest days I've had. April and Ashish made it to church, and had a wonderful experience. Saturday night we went by and had a lesson on the 10 Commandments, Follow the Prophet and Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. They enjoyed all of them and we left with them an assignment to watch President Monson's talk in this last conference, but before we left the lesson turned to eternal marriage, temples and baptism. The spirit was for sure there and it was such a great conversation. Since Last week at church was all centered on Eternal Families, April soaked it all up and wanted us to share it with Ashish because he wasn't able to make it that week. April seems to really want it. At church yesterday, the speakers were so great and I definitely felt the spirit and wondered if April and Ashish were too, so i was praying a lot through that meeting that they would. In gospel principles Elder Johnson was teaching and felt like we needed to talk about eternal marriage more with the other members that were there to help. It went so well! They were asking all sorts of questions and as we were talking about it i could see April looking over at Ashish with this certain smile that I'm sure he knew what meant. Ha ha. After that we went to Elders Quorum with Ashish and had a great lesson. At the end of it Ashish said,"what a great day. It was very enlightening and i felt the spirit." I said,"Really?!" Ha ha i was surprised! But he said he felt it big time during sacrament meeting during the talks. Prayers are answered! At that moment i was so happy. We love that family so much. It's funny how just by teaching someone the gospel you can grow such a love for them and desire for them to come to Christ. I love it. So this next week we are going to help them set a date to be baptized. We're trying to stay at a slower pace just because Ashish really doesn't know much about Christianity, but he's come a far way since we first met him. He's even saying prayers now! So we'll see what happens this next week :)

Matt is doing so good. We're meeting with him 3 days or so a week and he's making a lot of improvements. He brought his Nephew Tyler with him to one of the lessons and now we're teaching him too. They both came to a baptism that was held in Lawrenceburg on Saturday that was so amazing. The lady that was baptized is a TOUGH little lady! I was able to interview her for her baptism and she shared this story with me, she said," No one loved smoking more than i did. I smoked all the time. But 14 years ago i was driving home from work listening to a talk show with a doctor that was giving advice on how to quit smoking, and she said that the addiction itself lasts a week, after that it's all habit. The doctor had all these people calling in saying 'oh i tried it for 3 days and i just couldn't do it!' and i said to myself, i wonder if I'm that weak. I wonder if i could do it. I'm going to try it. So i put the cigarette that was in my hand in the box and threw it in my console and it stayed in there for 2 years. I have never picked up a cigarette since and now no one can accuse me of being weak. I will never pick one up again. I will not be weak." How awesome is that?! She is a great lady. It was such a spiritual baptism. Matt and Tyler really enjoyed it, and Matt is really looking forward to his own. For right now he's set on Dec. 29th but we will probably have to push it back a little bit. But we'll see. We are so blessed though, we are teaching amazing people.

Well i have run out of time, so i must go. I love being a missionary though and teaching the gospel. I love seeing the change it makes in others. Heavenly Father loves his children so much and has given this to us so we can each change and be happy. The gospel is all about change, and i am grateful that i have been changed by it and that i get to continue to change. I love love love my Heavenly Father.

So this week has been a little crazy. Our Oldest Son came into town with his family. Cooking for a dinner that didn't happen because my Dad got sick. James' back is hurting and not letting any of us sleep. Thanksgiving and joyous fun! Big pieces of metal in my car tire. Getting a call and we are going to talk in church on Sunday. I felt a panic attack creeping up on me yesterday. I kept breathing and ate some chocolate. Had dinner with extended family again. I was all good and ready for bed. I'm still busy and need to make some more brownies for tonight. What a crazy weird week!!!!! Then there's the tree that needs to be "fluffed"......sigh........ :]
Elder Johnson and I are staying in Batesville!!! We got the news this morning. We're both happy! I love it here and i am so excited for these next 6 weeks. A lot is going to happen! Things are moving a long and looking up!

This past week we found 4 new people! It was the Watkin's neighbors! It went so well!! So, we went over on Wednesday night not sure what to expect, and we had a nice dinner full of questions about the church. One things i gotta say i am thankful for is the spirit. I don't know what i would do with out it! It was so fun, they were asking all sorts of questions. We had a great conversation about all sorts and we taught briefly on the Plan of Salvation. It was funny though, the friends they had invited were actually good friends with the member family that we were eating with the Sunday that we got the call from them! Ha ha! And they actually were going to invite them to listen to the missionaries anyway, so i guess it all worked out! So this Wednesday we are planning on having a lesson at the Watkins at 6 and we are planning on finishing the Plan of Salvation. That Wednesday actually we have 4 investigator appointments!! Pretty sweet! This week is going to rock.

Brother Boyd, Matt, and April all came to church on Sunday! It was great! They all really enjoyed it. We had breakfast before with April and Ashish..french toast yumm. Gosh i love that family. They are doing real well! And Matt is on date for December 22nd! He's feeling pretty ready and really wants it so we're letting him have it! ha ha. We are so blessed to be teaching so many great people, i've never taught this many people before on my mission! We are teaching 5 families and a couple other people. Holy cow! Never has that happened. And this Wednesday we have appointments with a part member family and another family that we met out on the sidewalk. So we will be adding to that. WE ARE SO BLESSED. I love it here.

We encountered a bed bug in our apartment the other day...uh oh. Hopefully it's the only one.

Welllllll i have to get going. Sorry it's such a short letter this week. P-days seem to get shorter and shorter. Oh wait they are! They end at 4:45 now instead of 6. Ha ha. But i am thankful for being on a mission. I have learned so much out here and have made so many friends, my life has been so blessed by them. I am thankful for having a family that loves each other and has the gospel. I love this church and i love the gospel so much. I pray i can continue to find families to bring this gospel to, so they can be blessed just as i have. Jesus Christ lives! The Book of Mormon is TRUE!

I love you all so much! Thank you for everything you do for me, you all mean so much to me. Share the gospel! Spread the Happiness! Spread the Blessings!

I did it again. I forgot to blog. It has been a weird week. Nothing out of the ordinary, just weird. I thought I would have at least one more week till all the happy eating started. Now it's just getting all the family schedules put together. I even forgot to eat breakfast this morning. So I am typing this with one hand while I eat a tuna sandwich with the other. I feel a little off haha. I hope that your Thanksgiving plans all go well and you eat with happy hearts. I know that I am looking forward to my daughter in laws mashed potatoes!! Celebrate the season of giving! Have a great week everyone!!
I laughed so hard at the thing about Lucky in the snow ha ha she is so cute! That's a lot of snow! It snowed a little here. Nothing stuck though, but it was nice. It was pretty much straight slush though. Man that's crazy about Elder J, hopefully he is doing ok. You guys are great in helping those missionaries though! Every missionary would love to have a family like you guys :)

Well this past week was pretty great. Besides Elder Johnson breaking our couch, it was good. It was a hard week to get things done, we didn't have very many lessons, but the ones we did have were great. It was kind of a week to set up everything for the next week. It was weird. This week we have a ton of stuff going on! But last week we were able to meet with April and Ashish a few times and teach them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's so fun teaching them, they are so amazing. If we don't talk to them for a few days then she will call just to check up on us and see how we are doing. And we do the same. Ha ha. I love this family! And the ward is taking them in really well! Everyone is asking about them and wanting to meet them. They have a member family moving in a couple doors down from them that they are always asking about, and that will be this weekend so we will be able to introduce them. Excited to see them continue to progress! I love them!

Annett and Robert are doing well, Robert was going to be baptized this weekend but we felt better about moving it back a little bit, which he agreed with. We had a solid lesson with him yesterday about the Holy Ghost and other things, and he really wants to get his life in order and be baptized. It's pretty awesome. And we actually got to talk for second with his daughter Rosie and we invited her to come to church, and she accepted! I'm excited to see that family turn things around. it's great being a missionary teaching so many great people. :)

Sunday morning we got a call from Emily asking where we were at, which we were at the church, and she was like oh come out back! So we were like ok, then it turns out that she brought her brother to church! Matt! In the 2nd hour we all sat down and had a great lesson all about Heavenly Father and how we can communicate with Him and who He is and just everything! The spirit was strong and it was really good even for me. He's pretty prepared it seemed and he's very willing to learn. He says he wants to change his life around. So later this week we will be teaching him along with Emily and CV! Pretty stoked. They are awesome.

On Sunday we had a mission wide fast to reach our goal of 500 baptisms for the year, which we only need 94 more. But at soon as we broke our fast at a members house we got a call from Sister Watkins about her neighbors. We had done some service for them by raking their leaves a few weeks back and the other night we made some of our famous cookies and brought them over to them and they loved them! She after her husband brought them in to her came running out saying, "Boys you can cook at my house anytime!!" ha ha it was funny. On Sunday they called Sister Watkins because they wanted us over for dinner on Wednesday! How sweet is that! Oh but it gets sweeter! She told Sister Watkins, "I invited another couple to come that night because they wanted to learn about the church too, do you think the boys would be upset about that?" Ha ha woo! Oh man WE ARE BLESSED. Definitely excited for tomorrow!

Well i need to get going. This week is going to be great! I know I say this a lot but I love being a missionary. It is seriously so amazing. I'm just a little weak human being, but man Heavenly Father helps me so much. Especially when I'm thrown into situations when I don't know what to say or teach ha ha. That's a big one. I am so grateful for Him giving me strength to carry on. Elder Long goes home next week, and basically I'm freaked out a little (a lot). It's crazy how fast everything goes. You feel like it is forever, but once you get there or get close you feel like, wait that's it? That's all? There's not more? I am so grateful to be out here having the experience of being a missionary. It is unlike anything in the world. And I would never trade it away for anything. Jesus Christ lives, and Heavenly Father is our loving Father in heaven. I know this gospel is true and is THE ONLY way to happiness. Satan tries to make that seem otherwise. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and it really does guide us safely through this crazy world.

Have a great week! I love you all so much! Transfers are next Tuesday :/ we'll see what happens! SHARE THE GOSPEL!

It had to happen sometime. It was sunny and 70 on Thursday then on Friday it started. When we got up Saturday we had 8" of beautiful very wet snow. I learned to balance an umbrella while shoveling. I have to say it was out of laziness of not wanting to put a coat on. I'm glad I did it because then I didn't have to do it on Saturday! Poor Lucky needed some grass shoveled. When it's past your belly it makes it a little hard to do your duty! But her favorite thing to do is eat snow. She comes in with a white mustache. I'm very grateful that the Elder was in Indiana when hurricane Sandy hit. He had a lot of rain and was cold, but nothing that he couldn't handle. The weather is acting up right now. Makes you wonder what this winter is going to be like.....
Second, yeah. James better write me back! ha ha. I haven't heard from him in tooooo long. Third, i miss the deer! We see them every once in a while here, mostly because there are no mountains for them to hide in, so they are just kind of all around. I saw a lot more last year than this year. But that sweet that they are coming out again over there!

Well it was a pretty great week here in Batesville! We had some great things happen yesterday. A new family to church! The Dammal family. They are younger, and so awesome! I think i told you about them, the husband is Hindu, and the wife knows a lot about the church from a friend she knew a while back. We found them tracting a few weeks ago. It was so good to see them all there, the ward members loved them too. Everyone came to talk with them!! It was great! We're looking forward to having some good lessons with them this week. They are so awesome, we love them.

We received some referrals from a family here for some people in Lake Santee that we went to contact yesterday, and ended up at the Boyd's house. It was just a drop in visit, and we thought it would be a good thing since we haven't seen her for a while. She's been sick but we came in and answered quite a bit of her concerns which was so good. She's been worrying about so many other things that she has heard, and hasn't done enough reading and praying. So we just testified and pointed her in the right direction to get her answers for the Book of Mormon and things. It went so well!! We've been wanting to meet with her for a long time to help her, but haven't been able to. So it was just an answer to all our prayers. Especially Brother Boyd's, being that he is so ready to be baptized. Then after that she asked for a blessing. The first I've given to a non-member I think! Man the spirit was strong. By the end of the blessing brother Boyd was all tearing up and it made me a little choked up. It was such a great experience, and she said she will be at church on Sunday! He's been coming to church, but she hasn't been yet, so this will be good! Plus they are both having dinner with the bishop here and 2 other members, who are all converts to the church. And we are having dinner with them tomorrow. Man, I love being a missionary. It's just the best of times for sure.

Speaking of blessing, it was funny, just a few weeks ago Elder Johnson and I were talking and we both decided that it had been too long since we had given a blessing to someone. We missed giving them! And then in this past week we've given 3. ha ha. I love it. Tender Mercy!

Halloween was pretty sweet! We had like 100 miles to use the last day of the month so we did a huge loop in our area looking for people. It was a rather boring day, not a whole lot happened. But it ended well at the Garnish's. We passed out candy with them and talked. It was pretty nice, some one asked if we were dressed up as the scary business men from Adventure Time. No idea who that is. ha ha. But ok! That night we had to be in by 7:30 to have a mission-wide study which was pretty good, we actually came up with a few things that we can do for this are to help people get baptized. And all the things we came up with were the same things the leaders in the ward started doing on their own on Sunday. Can't complain! Things are definitely looking up right now. But then again it always is.

We found a new guy this week! Mark! We're working on teaching his family too. He's the one we talked with that night at the Dahl's. You know, the baby bib picture? ha ha. He is sweet though and might be inviting some friends from his church to come to the next lesson!!

Well I'm out of time. It's such an exciting time to be a missionary, and I'd say it's the best time. So much is happening! The world is changing so much, but this church will always stay the same. It's great to see something that is solid and unchanging in such a wishy-washy world that doesn't commit to anything. I love this church. I love the scriptures and the power that is in them. I love Jesus Christ and I am SO grateful for his sacrifice, that for me who constantly messes up, he is always calling me back. It is the same for everyone, that he did suffer and die for everyone, not just collectively but individually. He loves me, he loves you. What a great thing.

This is what we do every year to Lucky. She hates this so much!!! We laugh and take our picture. Then we give her a treat and a big hug. What she puts up with out of love. I hope your Halloween activities were fun and exciting. I went to my parents and spent it with them. I just didn't want to be home alone while everyone else was out having fun. Now we are in to the thankful time of year. I am thankful for many things. To many to count. I hope your weekend is great!!!!
Well this week was a pretty different one. A good one though! We started out by dropping our car of at the shop for a few days. Which was just oh so fun. Ha ha. It actually wasn't that bad, the weather was SO nice for those couple of days so we didn't mind walking around everywhere. Because the weather was so nice, everybody was outside all the time so we talked to a lot of people and actually found a family (sort of-they're not married YET)! Rex and Eve. They are so sweet. We were walking to Holly's and I heard a "Are you guys from a church?" being yelled from across the street so of course we ran over there and talked with him. He actually was out reading his Bible too! He told us how he's had a rough life and him and his girlfriend were looking for a church to go to. So we invited him and set up a return appointment for Thursday. It went great! He knows the Bible so well! It's funny, we talked about Christ's church and how it was organized and such and how it is the same today. He was like, "Yeah, why not! It's in the Bible!" Ha. We should be going by to teach them the Plan of Salvation soon. I'll let you know how that goes!

On Friday we had our Halloween party! That was pretty fun. Elder Johnson and I struggled to find costumes...we were going to buy mustaches and say that we were "rebellious missionaries" but sadly...we couldn't find any. So, plan B! A pirate hat and Fairy wings! Yep! Elder Johnson was a pirate, and i was the fairy. Emily and her daughters made it there with Kari and they seemed to really enjoy it! It was a Dance and food party. Food as in fattening deserts, Yum. Emily who is about 7 months pregnant i think (BTW she's having her baby on my birthday! Woo!) got out on the dance floor with her kids, oh man that was pretty awesome. It was just a good ol time. I love this ward, the members are so awesome and out investigators rock!

We were planning on having about 7 or 8 people at church this Sunday but only 1 made it. Brother Boyd! Everybody else was sick. Everyone is getting sick right now! It's crazy! And annoying! But that's ok. Brother Boyd loved it though, he is seriously already a member. Looks like one, acts like one, talks like one, everyone else already sees him as one! It's so cool. We had a great lesson with him Tuesday on the Plan of Salvation which went very well. It answered a lot of his questions. Bishop Phaneuf was there and they hit it off right away! Both 66, and both their wives were once Methodist. Bishop Phaneuf has a pretty cool Coversion story too. It was just a great lesson, and he and Sister Boyd are planning on taking us to dinner tomorrow. It will be great!

Anyway i am out of time and need to go. So much to do! This gospel is amazing and i love it so much. It brings so much peace to me. It is so true. And i really want the people here to know this too. It's wonderful seeing the difference the gospel makes in a person's life. The Scriptures are true and they have stories of people who have successfully coped with all the things we face in life. I love that they are written down so we can have a model of what we need to do to face our trials! Heavenly Father loves us all so much, and he wants each of us to be happy, so he sent His Son. Jesus Christ is the way to happiness-the only way to happiness. He lives, and loves us!

So the other night Chet ran out of his chocolate syrup. I know the world came to an end. So I asked him if he looked on pintrest for the recipe. He looked at me weird and sad. James saved him by calling and needing a ride. I take this opportunity to get on and find one. When they get back I show him what I found. I thought he was going to cry right there. So the next day he watched me make him some yummy dark chocolate syrup. He pulled out his ice cream to try it out. He was so silent while eating it. Then there was a big smile. Yes, I can make chocolate syrup. Sorry Hershey, I will be making my own, but I will still need your cocoa. As long as Chet is happy then I am happy!! :]

Well this past week was good. It slowed down quite a bit though. My whole mission i think has really been pushing me to do the hard things, and this past week was definitely a trial of my faith, which is a topic we have been focusing on for a long while as a mission. Pretty much every appointment we had last week canceled, and so most days we found ourselves asking, "Well, what now?" But one thing i have learned, that to make it to the breaking point and not break, you have to keep the faith and knowledge that God lives, and he will lead you. Don't pray away the trial, but ask for strength to make it through it. Don't ask for a different road or a different load, but ask for guidance and help to carry the load. The Savior's grace is with us and helps us every step of the way. We will always hit our trial - the trial of our faith - but if we push through it, THEN we receive the witness or miracle. So i found myself asking for a lot of help and guidance this last week. We didn't find any new investigators, but with some help and because we did the hard things and pressed on in faith, we got 2 new people to church, plus 2 other pretty much new investigators to church that we will be teaching this week. Plus! I'm happy. Ha ha. I love the peaceful feeling knowing that you worked hard and did your best. I love how much help we have from our Heavenly Father through this life if we just press on!

Holly came to church for the first time in years and really enjoyed it. She was taught years ago by sister missionaries and almost was baptized but never commit. But right now she is on date for December 3rd! She is great. Gospel Principles class was so awesome, we prayed about what needed to be taught and we decided on The Gift of the Holy Ghost, which was perfect for her! The class went over because we were having such a great conversation. Man it was awesome. Also Brother Boyd (we call him brother boyd because he's pretty much a member) came to church for the first time and really enjoyed it! He already knows so much about the church and is reading in 3 Nephi now! I'm pretty sure Holly thought he was a member ha ha. It was awesome! Oh and Elder Johnson gave a talk to which was so good. It was a really great Sunday.

WE PET A RACCOON! Yep. He was nice. The names Rascal.

But anyway, this week was definitely a learning experience! It really was a good week though. This week will be a good one too, we have a couple great lessons lined up already! I'm excited to see what's in store! I love this gospel so much and i am so grateful to have it in my life and a part of my family. I am so grateful to be on a mission and I'm grateful for how much it has shaped me. The mission is hard, but it is incredible. Heavenly Father lives and loves us, Jesus is the Christ who suffered and died for us to make it possible to live with Him and His Father again. Families are forever.

Amen!

It's me again. I really don't have a lot to share this week. Just driving James crazy trying to get him caught up on homework for his missed days. He has been talking German to me and I have no idea what he is saying. But if it helps with his communication log I will listen and try to guess what the phrase is. I am always wrong and we laugh. My guess last night was "Lucky's sweater is by the blanket hamper." His question was "How was your day today?" I so don't know what he's saying! Tonight we are going to a free concert at Riverwoods so he can get his concert report done for orchestra. It will be a nice night out and hopefully with some good music. We are taking one of his friends also. I hope Chet and I survive!! Then a great thing will happen tomorrow.........no alarm Saturday!!!! I can hardly wait!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

This past week was definitely a good one. It's been hard lately with pretty much no appointments, but we've been trying to stay busy finding people. On Tuesday we tracted out a sweet family! We set up a return appointment for Friday and they were all ready to sit and hear what we have to share with them. Asheesh (that's not how you spell it but i can't figure out any other way to) is Hindu and he's from India. He is way sweet! He grew up in a Catholic church so he knows about Jesus Christ a little bit. He's not a practicing Hindu, but still considers himself one. April is his wife and she is super cool too. She knows quite a bit about the church from her member friends, but has never met with the missionaries until now. They are both ready and willing to learn and very open to reading the Book of Mormon. It was cool though, we prayed and decided to teach the Plan of Salvation for their first lesson, and everything was going so good, but near the end Asheesh stopped us and asked, "what is the Holy Ghost?" Man did i feel dumb. Ha ha. I guess we carried on thinking he knew. But it was pretty cool to teach him these eternal basic truths about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. It's just awesome being a missionary.

On Sunday we got a new bishop! Bishop Watkins, after 7 years, has been called to the High Council. He will do great. Man I love that family though, it was a big tearful Sunday that's for sure. They are seriously my family away from home. On Saturday we were able to go do service for his neighbors and rake all their leaves, which actually turned into them dropping goodies off at bishop's to thank him, and they ended up having a gospel conversation for like an hour and a half. And Sister Watkins offered to have them over when we were there and they should be setting something up this week! Man, just doing service is my favorite anyway, but to see the things that come out of it sometimes are just awesome. Things are definitely moving!

Right now the rest of our investigators are kind of in limbo, so we're having a good take action week this week. Which started last night with a less active family that we are going over the Addiction Recovery Program with. It's funny, everyone we've taught here kind of progresses at the same rate and at the same time. When one person is being taught the plan of salvation, so is everybody else. It kind of just works out like that. So right now it's get it done! Make it happen! Just do it! Action week. We'll be having some sweet lessons this week to get people to baptism. It's going to be a good one :)

Well, I'm out of time. And i gotta say, if there is anything I've learned out here, it's that there is not a point that you reach to where you are in the safe zone away from Satan's influence. You ALWAYS have to protect and defend your faith. It is an every day-every second thing. With correct decisions, you can increase in faith, and with incorrect decisions you can decrease in faith. It is a gift of God that is given when righteousness is present, and man am i thankful for it. I am just so grateful for how much Heavenly Father loves his children and leads and guides us. The work is rolling forward, and through our faith many people will know the truth. This is the work of the Lord, and it will roll forth with or with out us! I love being a missionary. I know i say that a lot but it is so amazing. It scares me to think of how short it is. But it makes me so happy to see so many people preparing to serve and getting out there! Let's do it!

I love you all! Have a great week! Share the gospel with someone!

Well we had a great Conference weekend. Like always we spent it with the Spencer's making salsa. Then we ate a lot of good food while listening to wonderful uplifting words. I won Conference bingo twice while taking notes! It was a good time all around. Then James' allergies kicked in again and he got a cold on top of it. But just to make sure he had it all he burst his ear drum. So he is dripping from his nose and ear. Then he has this wonderful cough. Lysol is my friend right now. The heating pad broke the 3rd day into his ear yuckiness. It was old and had a good life, but it could have waited till he didn't need it, sigh. I am finding tissues and cotton balls around. I'm sorry, but I will not touch them!! That's just not right!!! So James is a pain, I mean James is still in pain at times. I wish there was a wonder drug that would heal it all in one day at this point. But then he acts silly in his feel ok moments and he makes me smile. So I guess we will get through this again. This too shall pass. Then maybe I will get some sleep.........sure........... :]

I got the package from the Robinson's! A camera?! That's awesome!! Thank you so much!! I love all the goodies too. Also, between Harris and I....Little buddy and I had a good time watching conference together..and eating M&Ms. Ha ha. He sat next to me in the church. :)

I love the pictures! Shawn is like 10X bigger than when I left. Wow he has grown! But it's so good to see the Spencer's. I love that family. Congrats Susie! She'll do great! So for how long are they going to be tearin up the church? What are Sundays like? Classes outside? Ha. Those Elder's ties are sweet! I had one in Xenia for a little while that Elder Riggs and I would wear as a "tie-bib" at dinner appointments sometimes. ha ha. Mostly just to make the kids laugh.

It was a pretty good week this past week. Definitely wasn't at as fast of a pace as the others, but it was still really good. General conference was amazing! All our investigators bailed out on coming to the church to watch it with us and the members, but 2 still watched it at home. Our Monday chapel tour went so good! James is so ready for baptism. We went through the church talking about doctrine and baptism most of the time then finished with a quick lesson of the restoration in front of the baptismal font. That went really well too! He had good questions about the priesthood and everything that we were able to clear up. He said himself that he is ready for baptism, but he wants to wait for his wife. She still has concerns. It's kind of a milk before meat type of deal, except she went meat before milk, so we're just trying to clear those up and get her reading the Book of Mormon. They are so awesome though and I'm really excited for them!

CV and Emily's lesson went very well. Their fellowshipper is Kari, so we gave her an assignment to teach part of the lesson which was way good. It's always good to hear other's teach in their own way and their point of view, it's good for the investigators too. Emily was on date for the 13th but we all decided to push it back. Her and CV are working on quitting smoking. That's hard stuff! So this week we will be teaching the Word of Wisdom. I'm excited to see the Atonement work with them with this, it's a big step for them. They are such great people, I love teaching them. They are so fun! They should be making some yummy turtle gumbo for us this week :D Woo!

We went on exchanges this past week with the Zone Leaders, so I got to go to Kentucky again! Whooee! It was so fun. I was with Elder Fulmer, one of the elders I came out with. So that was SO fun! We made cookies and passed them out to people, taught an awesome investigator named Brian who is so solid in his testimony of the gospel, and talked with a crazy guy on the side of the road about the haunted bar of Big Macky's. It was definitely interesting! Meanwhile in Batesville, Elder Johnson and Elder Bowen were tearin it up! They got Holly on date for baptism which is so sweet! They extended for November 3rd but she wanted to do it on December 3rd because it was a special day to her. So that was so good! She is awesome, and has a way solid testimony of the gospel after being taught by missionaries over the years.

General Conference really hit home for me. Gosh i loved it. I love having prophets and apostles. We are so blessed! Pretty much every talk i felt was for me. I love when that happens, It was a big testimony builder that's for sure! I've been reading the New testament for a couple weeks and man, I love having the Book of Mormon with it. It helps so much! The Bible is amazing, but if i only had that and not the Book of Mormon, then I think i would really be lost. The Book of Mormon clarifies everything so much! It is so perfect and with the Bible it shows us who we need to be and what we need to do. I am so grateful for it! I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves every one of us. Heavenly Father is our loving Father, and he is always watching over us and caring for us. Even if sometimes we don't realize it. Dispute not because ye see not! You receive no witness until after the trial of your faith!

I can't believe it. That is so awesome. How many missionaries are from our ward now? like a billion?

Well this past week was pretty awesome. the work is rolling forward at such a fast pace it's hard to keep up! CV and Emily are doing great! They both came to church yesterday and loved it. CV is so funny, he kept asking when he gets the "kool-aid" ha ha. Emily is still on date for October 13th but right now we are looking at maybe pushing it back a little bit, we will be having dinner with them on Tuesday and we are going to discuss it. They are so awesome though, it's so fun teaching them. They're definitely some of my most favorite people ever!

Last night was pretty cool. We were planning on going up to Brookville with a member after lunch at the bishop's but ended up not because they didn't have enough gas to get there and we didn't have enough miles to drive there and back, so we ended up calling some investigators down in Osgood to see if we could drop by. We eventually got there and when we did, the wife called their preacher and asked if we all could come over which he of course said yes. Who can resist grilling a couple of Mormon missionaries? We got there and almost instantly they brought out all they could about the Mormon church they had found on the Internet. Oh man did i start praying! The preacher's wife really tried hard to bash us as much as she could. The preacher was actually pretty cool, he was just trying to determine if we were Christian because he had heard otherwise. It was funny because all the stuff they got off the internet was actually right, and we just kinda sat there bearing testimony of everything she said and after we did she didn't have much to say on the subject. I've had some Bible bashes before, but none like this one. This one all we did was bare testimony and it literally stumped everything they tried to throw against us. It was pretty cool. Preacher John decided in the end that we were a couple of good guys who were part of a great religion, and that we were Christian. Pretty cool i thought!

Ok so, the Boyds. They are so SWEET! Holy cow they are awesome. So yeah it all started with him flippin through the channels and coming across BYUtv and loving what he watched then he ordered a Book of Mormon and he as of last week was already reading in Alma 60. WOW. He knows it is true and really wants to go to the temple. It was amazing! Such a testimony builder! The wife hasn't read it yet but is very willing to learn and discover for herself, and they are both SO nice! We gave them an extra Book of Mormon and he was like,"Hey i'm going to give this to one of my friends!" He's already a missionary!! Tonight we will be having a chapel tour with them and a member and we will be inviting them to baptism for this month. Oh man we are so stoked! And it turns out that he knows a ton of the members in this ward already so everybody else is just as excited!! We are so blessed here. I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY.

Well the time is up and i must get going. This is the work of the Lord. I know that. I know that this is the true and living church. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and because of that I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. Heavenly Father loves us all so much, and he shows it every day. I love him and I am so grateful to be out here serving. Thank you so much for everything you do! I love you all so much! Oh, and tell the Bagley's that the Flarp is awesome!! Ha ha! Also the home maid gatoraide rocks!
